Trailer Driving Lessons with DrivePlus Category BE
What do you need for the trailer licence?
Vehicle combinations consisting of a Category B towing vehicle and a trailer, which as a combination do not fall under Category B.

Eye Test
Must not be older than 24 months for any learner's permit application and must be completed by a Swiss optician or doctor.
Traffic Medical Examination
not required, as already completed/fulfilled with the acquisition of towing vehicle category B.
Epileptics
are only admitted to traffic based on a suitability assessment from a neurologist or an epilepsy specialist.

Practice Drives
- Learner's permit required
- Escort not required, exception: if you don't have a Category B driving license, you can only drive the towing vehicle with the required learner's permit and a suitable escort. Requirements for the escort:
- Completed 23rd year of age
- At least 3 years in possession of a Category B driving license
- No probationary driving license

* provided you hold the driving license category for the corresponding towing vehicle
Category BE
A vehicle combination consisting of a Category B test vehicle and a trailer with a permissible total weight of at least 1000 kg, which can reach a speed of at least 80 km/h and does not fall under Category B. The trailer must consist of a closed body that is at least as wide and high as the towing vehicle. The closed body of the trailer may be slightly less wide, provided that rearward visibility via the towing vehicle's exterior mirrors is ensured. The trailer must be used with an operating weight of at least 800 kg.
